Concrete flooring has become more popular over the years especially in more urban areas. However, actually putting down a concrete floor can be too costly. Also real concrete is not as practical as flooring that resembles concrete. Karndean has some great flooring options that have the same color and look as concrete.
Recently, Karndean added twelve new wood plank looks to the Van Gogh collection. The new styles replicate the visuals that occur through burning, liming, and smoking.
Tawny Oak, Burgundy Oak, Hessian Oak, and Honey Oak are the floor lightly lime washed oak look designs. These four designs are reminiscent of salvaged antique flooring, which work well for traditional and contemporary designs.
Reclaimed Redwood, Aged Redwood, and Salvaged Redwood are designs that were inspired by the American Redwood railroad ties. The Burnished Beech and Smoked Beech designs create a rich and warming foundation for any decor style.
The Lime Washed Cypress and Burnished Cypress are two of the most unique plank designs in the collection. These two styles combine liming and smoking techniques, which results in a more refined and sophisticated aesthetic that is perfect for any room in the house.

Here are a few extra tips to help you keep your Karndean flooring clean:
Mop up any spills as soon as you can to reduce any risk of staining.
Avoid sliding or dragging furniture or heavy objects across the floor, and use felt protector pads on the bottom of furniture and chair legs to prevent scratching.
Use entrance mats that are backed with natural latex.
Use load bearing castors to protect the floor against indentation from heavy furniture.
Avoid the use of bleach-based household cleaners because they can make the floor slippery or cause discoloration.

Karndean has recently come out with a new Opus Enhance range. The products in this collection have unprecedented slip resistance, they scored a result of 40 plus in the Pendulum Wet Test. The Pendulum Wet Test measures dynamic coefficient of friction (CoF). The test is designed to replicate a pedestrian heel strike, which is the point where most slips occur. When the pedestrian’s heel strikes a wet floor, a fluid film is created between the two and that can cause a slip. Also, this test can be used to accurately test the slip potential on clean, dry, or contaminated flooring.
The Opus Enhance collection is HSE compliant, and it offers the same intricate detail and designs as the Opus collection. The six planks and two large format tiles achieve a R12 rating. The Opus Enhance Collection will work great in hair salons, hotels, retail environments, and many other commercial settings. The enhancement to the PU coating allows for added grip without compromising the design.
Listed below are the products that are part of the Opus Enhance collection:

Karndean’s Art Select Stones Collection LVT has been named as a finalist in the Tomorrow’s Flooring Awards.
Tomorrow’s Flooring is an online industry magazine, and for the fourth year running they have shortlisted 50 flooring products that have made a significant impact over the year. Sarah Robinson, the editor of Tomorrow’s Flooring, said that the Art Select Stones LVT was an obvious choice as a finalist.
Sarah Robinson was impressed by the unique and inspiring designs from the Art Select Stones collection. The range of the designs allows designers and homeowners to create a luxurious and highly realistic finish at a fraction of the cost. Also, luxury vinyl tile with a stone pattern keeps you from having to deal with the difficulties of real stone flooring such as cracking and chipping. The marble, limestone, travertine, and slate looks from around the globe also inspired her to pick this flooring as a finalist. Click here to see our collection of Art Select LVT from Karndean.
Many people love Christmas so much that they turn their house into their own little Christmas sanctuary. Some people put up multiple Christmas trees, some put as many Christmas area rugs or decor around the house, and some create one room in the house with a winter or Christmas theme.
Interior expert Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen created his own indulgent Christmas sanctuary in the ‘throne room.’ Laurence based his design in the bathroom because of the concept that the only true peace is found in the ‘throne room.’ Laurence used products from the Van Gogh and Michelangelo collections from Karndean. He used the soft white styling of Karndean’s White Washed Oak and the contrasting charcoal black tones of Karndean’s Umbrian Nero. These two floors combined create a striking backdrop to his unique space.
Besides the flooring, Laurence used some creative winter decor. He used two snowy white owls, tree branches, and a small mound of fake snow. He also placed a few leaves throughout the room to go along with the winter theme.
