Tile flooring allows you to have the flooring look you want without worrying about climate issues or price. Many people would never think to put hardwood flooring in a bathroom because the humidity would destroy the flooring, but there is tile flooring that looks exactly like hardwood. You can use wood tile , which allows you to achieve the look of hardwood flooring, and you won’t have to worry about the humidity issue. In addition, wood tile is easier to take care of than real hardwood flooring.
Wood floor tiles are also becoming popular for high traffic areas such as family rooms or playrooms because they are cost effective and easily maintained. You can create a warm feeling to the room by adding some area rugs.
Thankfully there are many tile options besides the original white kitchen and bathroom tiles. If you use multiple types of tiles in a room, then you can be more creative with the room’s design.
Tile has also become versatile enough that you can use tiles that look like bricks in showers, kitchens, and even cellars. Using brick tile as a backdrop can save you money without sacrificing the high end look you are trying to achieve. Tile flooring can also be used for an outside deck, which immediately updates and freshens the look of the home. Also, if you want to do something more creative and fun, then create a unique design on a table top with tile. Tile also looks great surrounding a mirror.
Tile allows you to be creative in any way you can imagine. Don’t be afraid to try something new with interior design and tile. Click here to see our tile flooring.
Dal-Tile and Mohawk Group have announced the opening of their first West Coast design studio, which is located in San Francisco, California. This studio is the third to open in the United States. It’s opening follows the Dal-Tile studio, which opened in Philadelphia in May 2014, and the Dallas studio, which opened in September 2012.
Lori Kirk-Rolley, vice president of brand marketing at Dal-Tile, says that the company hopes to stimulate the design community in San Francisco and the West Coast with the addition of this studio. The design studio has almost 10,000 square foot of space. The studio is located in the historic C. Austin Gomez Building, which was built in 1916, and the building resides in the San Francisco Design District at 212 Utah Street.
The digital tools in the studio allow customers to bring their designs to life. Two LCD touch screens allow customers to visually flip through a catalog, view inspiration galleries, and build designs with a tile and stone visualizer tool. Light panels will show how the tile appears in different settings in the home. The Mohawk Group is also featured in the studio. Carpet and hard surface products from the Karastan, Lees, Bigelow, and Durkan brands are displayed as well.

Mosaic tile is popular for bathrooms and kitchens. You can create beautiful geometric patterns with this tile, but you can also bring to life more than just patterns. Mosaic tile flooring can be its own piece of art whether it is in your shower, bathroom, or kitchen. People will be awed and amazed by the beautiful images that can be made by mosaic tile. If you do not want to create images with mosaic tile by yourself, then you can hire someone to install this for you.
However, if you want to do this project on your own, then go for it because mosaic tile is great for DIY projects. The easiest way to approach this type of project is to follow these steps. Create your design on paper or in your mind, and then start dry-fitting the tile on the floor. Make sure your design is centered, and then mark the design. After that is done, start using the thinset to properly install your flooring. Mosaic tile adds a classic and elegant touch to any bathroom or kitchen. Be creative and add new art to your home.
In another month or so, we will be able to go outside and enjoy the warm weather. Warm weather means it is time to go into the backyard and grill hamburgers and hotdogs for a family get-together and sport events. Many people think about the grill first when getting ready for summer, but you have to have the right flooring for your outdoor cooking area before you get a grill.
Finding the perfect flooring for your outdoor cooking area is easy to do if you stick to these three factors: safety, budget, and style. You can use these factors and find a stylish and long-lasting outdoor flooring. Safety is the first and top factor to consider when designing an outdoor cooking area. Glazed and porous tiles and stone should be avoided because they are slippery when wet. Many people grill near a pool so glazed and porous tile and stone would make a summer party a disaster zone. Concrete, brick, natural stone, and ceramic tile are all safe and stylish choices.
The next factor to keep in mind is your budget when buying flooring. Creating the perfect outdoor cooking area is not going to break the bank. You can find the flooring to fit your style. The most popular flooring choice for this type of project is concrete. Concrete is affordable and durable. Concrete can be stamped, colored, and stained to have any type of you want. It can even be stained to look like real stone. Concrete tiles are another budget friendly option to consider.
Concrete, ceramic tile, brick, and natural stone can be used in many stylish ways for the outdoor cooking area. By using slate or cast-concrete tiles, you can create a contemporary style. Stone-texture stamped concrete can give your cooking area a Tuscan style. Brick, dark flagstones, or stamped cobblestone concrete creates an English or traditional look. Flagstone or faux rock crate a tropical style. These are only a few styles that can be created. Along with all of these great flooring options, you can also add an outdoor area rug. Style choices are unlimited and you will definitely be able to find the right flooring for your outdoor cooking area.
