Lately laminate has been featuring three new trends, which are color variations, reclaimed wood looks, and subtle textures. These three trends influenced Armstrong to create three new looks in their laminate. Armstrong created the Global Reclaim laminate flooring, which is part of the Architectural Remnants collection. The company also added three new flooring colors in Forestry Mix and they created Millwork Block, which are in the Rustics Premium collection. Each of these new products use different planks to create a highly varied board look, and they all have a realistic texture.
Global Reclaim laminate flooring was inspired by reclaimed wood floors, and this floor will look great in a cozy cabin, a refurbished urban loft, or even a rustic cottage. Armstrong’s embossing technique is what makes the laminate flooring look so realistic. Global Reclaim has a micro edge, which provides the smooth and realistic look as well. The gloss on this laminate flooring is more matte than others, which also lends to the realism of the reclaimed wood look. Global Reclaim blends the exotic wood looks of apple wood, eucalyptus, and maple in 18 unique planks, which give you a lot of variation.
Forestry Mix laminate flooring comes in three colors, which are brown washed, gray washed, and white washed. This new product is also part of the Rustics Premium collections, and it features scraped textures and farmhouse-style wide boards. In addition, this laminate flooring looks as if it has aged naturally, and it has details such as natural knots, chatter marks, and mineral streaks. Each of the three colors has 24 planks, which will create a varied board look.
Millwork Block laminate flooring blends the old and new with patchwork and mismatched designs. Armstrong Designer Sara Babinski says that this flooring works well in contemporary and traditional settings because of its distressed appearance. The texture of this flooring was enhanced by a subtle undulating surface treatment. In addition, this flooring uses 18 unique planks with the look of premium oak strips.
Each of these new products have a 50 year warranty from Armstrong. They also have a wear layer called VisionGuard, which protects the floor from staining, fading, and wear-through. The laminate flooring has a HydraCore Plus, which is a built-in performance core that provides durability, moisture resistance, and it gives the floor a substantial feel.
