Karndean is expanding its operations in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, which will create 38 new jobs for people in the county. The company is expanding to help out the advancement of Governor Tom Corbett’s JOBS1st PA Initiative.
Karndean says that the company has recently outgrown the space in Penn Township, which is located in Westmoreland County. The facility will double in size with the expansion, but it will still be in the same located. This expansion will create 38 new jobs, and the company will retain 69 more positions over the next three years.
The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development. Karndean has also been offered a $75,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, which will facilitate investment and job creation. They have been offered a $17,100 in Guaranteed Free Training, which will be used for skills training for new and incumbent employees. The company was also offered $76,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits, but the company must apply for each loan and grant and agree to the terms before award receipt. However, Karndean has accepted the funding proposal.

Karndean’s CEO, Ed Perrin, says that the company is excited to begin the new expansion and to work more with the local community.
