Screen Shot 2014-06-24 at 11.36.36 AMDal-Tile and Mohawk Group have announced the opening of their first West Coast design studio, which is located in San Francisco, California. This studio is the third to open in the United States. It’s opening follows the Dal-Tile studio, which opened in Philadelphia in May 2014, and the Dallas studio, which opened in September 2012.

Lori Kirk-Rolley, vice president of brand marketing at Dal-Tile, says that the company hopes to stimulate the design community in San Francisco and the West Coast with the addition of this studio. The design studio has almost 10,000 square foot of space. The studio is located in the historic C. Austin Gomez Building, which was built in 1916, and the building resides in the San Francisco Design District at 212 Utah Street.

The digital tools in the studio allow customers to bring their designs to life. Two LCD touch screens allow customers to visually flip through a catalog, view inspiration galleries, and build designs with a tile and stone visualizer tool. Light panels will show how the tile appears in different settings in the home. The Mohawk Group is also featured in the studio. Carpet and hard surface products from the Karastan, Lees, Bigelow, and Durkan brands are displayed as well.
