LANCASTER, PA.—Builders all across the country ranked the Armstrong and Bruce brands No. 1 in terms of quality and most used vinyl, laminate and hardwood flooring products in Builder magazine’s 2012 Brand Use Study.
The annual survey has been taking place for nearly 20 years, and according to Warren Nesbitt, group president, residential construction for Hanley Wood Business Media, the magazine’s publisher, “Armstrong has earned a top position in the builder survey since it was first developed nearly two decades ago. Its long-standing reputation and products are highly regarded among the builders we have surveyed over the past 20 years. This leadership position matters to our readers who link brand leadership with product performance and value to home builders.”
Armstrong swept all its fields, earning highest honors in Brand Familiarity, Brands Used in Past 2 Years, Brands Used the Most and Quality Rating; Bruce was the frontrunner in the hardwood flooring category. Builder’s Brand Use Study is the largest study of its kind in the residential construction market. This year’s survey saw more than 10,000 building professionals participating.
“The fact our customers consider Armstrong products to be the industry’s best, particularly in so many categories, underscores a level of trust and confidence we work hard to earn every day,” said Mara Villanueva-Heras, vice president of marketing, Armstrong Residential Floor Products, said.
From innovations such as its Masterworks Technology to several exclusive programs for home builders like Fashion- Smart, which packages Armstrong-branded soft and hard surface flooring across six “right floor/right price” tiers designed to help builders streamline the home buyer’s shopping process, are ways she said the company works to help the building sector. For instance, “Fashion-Smart offers a compelling tradeup story in each product category to help builders convey the advantages of each product tier to potential buyers.”
The 2012 Brand Use Study was conduced by Readex, which surveyed a statistical sample from Builder’s 100,000-plus readers to rank flooring brands. The full results were published in the April 2012 issue of Builder magazine.
