Dal-Tile’s First EPD for Ceramic Tile

Recently, Dal-Tile completed the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) development process for all of the products manufactured in North American production facilities. An EPD is an internationally recognized report that records the ways that a product affects the environment. This report documents the product’s entire lifetime affect, and it also documents a product’s sustainability. PE International validated and UL Environment certified that Dal-Tile completed the EPD. Dal-Tile voluntarily disclosed this information from all of the Dal-Tile, American Olean, Marazzi USA, and Ragno USA products with UL Environment certified EPDs.

However, if you want to do this project on your own, then go for it because mosaic tile is great for DIY projects. The easiest way to approach this type of project is to follow these steps. Create your design on paper or in your mind, and then start dry-fitting the tile on the floor. Make sure your design is centered, and then mark the design. After that is done, start using the thinset to properly install your flooring. Mosaic tile adds a classic and elegant touch to any bathroom or kitchen. Be creative and add new art to your home.

Get Ready For A Cookout

In another month or so, we will be able to go outside and enjoy the warm weather. Warm weather means it is time to go into the backyard and grill hamburgers and hotdogs for a family get-together and sport events. Many people think about the grill first when getting ready for summer, but you have to have the right flooring for your outdoor cooking area before you get a grill.

Finding the perfect flooring for your outdoor cooking area is easy to do if you stick to these three factors: safety, budget, and style. You can use these factors and find a stylish and long-lasting outdoor flooring. Safety is the first and top factor to consider when designing an outdoor cooking area. Glazed and porous tiles and stone should be avoided because they are slippery when wet. Many people grill near a pool so glazed and porous tile and stone would make a summer party a disaster zone. Concrete, brick, natural stone, and ceramic tile are all safe and stylish choices.

The next factor to keep in mind is your budget when buying flooring. Creating the perfect outdoor cooking area is not going to break the bank. You can find the flooring to fit your style. The most popular flooring choice for this type of project is concrete. Concrete is affordable and durable. Concrete can be stamped, colored, and stained to have any type of you want. It can even be stained to look like real stone. Concrete tiles are another budget friendly option to consider.
Concrete, ceramic tile, brick, and natural stone can be used in many stylish ways for the outdoor cooking area. By using slate or cast-concrete tiles, you can create a contemporary style. Stone-texture stamped concrete can give your cooking area a Tuscan style. Brick, dark flagstones, or stamped cobblestone concrete creates an English or traditional look. Flagstone or faux rock crate a tropical style. These are only a few styles that can be created. Along with all of these great flooring options, you can also add an outdoor area rug. Style choices are unlimited and you will definitely be able to find the right flooring for your outdoor cooking area.
