Armstrong Introduces Prime Harvest Oak

Hardwood by Armstrong HardwoodArmstrong has recently created a new hardwood flooring, which is called the Prime Harvest Oak. Prime Harvest Oak has the enduring look and guaranteed durability of oak, but it propels oak flooring to a new level. Oak is a best-selling hardwood species, and it makes up about 70 percent of all hardwood sales, which is why Armstrong wanted to give the species a new spin. Oak flooring is popular because of its ready abundance, and it is also a popular choice because of its distinctive grain, nice appearance, and dependable strength.
Milton Goodwin, the vice president of hardwood product management, says that Prime Harvest Oak will give dealers a new take on oak with all new kinds of styling, colors, and plank size. He also says that Prime Harvest Oak is a smart value in regards to hardwood flooring today.
Prime Harvest Oak comes in twelve different shades, which range from white-washed looks to ruby-toned to deep browns. The collection is available in 5-inch planks. Armstrong says that these floors are made to complement or contrast well with the home’s interior design, which includes the cabinetry, furniture, and other decor elements. The collection is available in solid and engineered structures, which both offer a traditional high gloss or contemporary low gloss. The high gloss gives the floor a more formal look while the low gloss gives your home a more casual look.

Armstrong Increases Price of Select Solid and Engineered Hardwood

manufacture_34On June 9, 2014, Armstrong is going to start a 4-10% price increase on select solid and engineered hardwood products. The price increase is effective in the United States and Canada. Also, they are raising the prices on these products to deal with the increased cost of raw materials. Since December 2013, the lumber costs have continued to escalate, so Armstrong has increased the prices to be able to still give the customer an innovative and quality product.

Rustic Hardwood Flooring

The rustic style has become more popular over the years. Rustic hardwood flooring has grown in popularity as a result. Homeowners crave authentic and familiar atmospheres in their homes. Hardwood floors that have textured looks and earthy colors create the warm homey feelings that people desire. Textured floors are one of the biggest trends occurring in interior design now. Hand-scraped and distressed hardwood floors give your home a beautifully aged looking floor. Earth tones and lighter wood colors are becoming more popular for the rustic design as well. Wide planks and random lengths of the wood flooring also create the rustic look for your home.

Armstrong Raises Hardwood Prices Again

manufacture_34Armstrong World Industries will be raising the prices on select solid and engineered hardwood products by 6 to 12 percent in the U.S. and Canada. The price change will take effect on February 3, 2014.

“We are taking this action after serious consideration of the alternatives and options but this increase is the minimum necessary to secure the raw materials required to service our valued customers as we move into 2014,” Kevin Biedermann, senior vice president of Armstrong Residential Floor Products, said in a statement.

The cost of the raw materials for veneer and lumber continue to increase, which leaves the only option for companies to increase product prices as well. Armstrong World Industries understands the difficulties that arise when prices increase, but they will still strive to deliver quality, innovation, and service that create growth for their customers.

The last price increase occurred on September 13, 2013.
